Tardy
Children should be dropped off by 8:05 a.m. so that they are in their homerooms ready to listen to prayer and announcements at 8:10 am. Parents of middle school students please take into account the time your child needs to stop at their locker and walk to class. Please review the Parent/Student Handbook: Daily Class Schedule. Doors open at 7:50 a.m., giving students ample time to prepare to begin their day at 8:10 a.m.
MLK Jr. Day
Even though students were not in class on Monday, our staff was present, participating in several staff development workshops: Arts Infused Education, Science Online, SMART board demonstrations, Office 2007 training, Michigan Literacy Progress Profile, a review of school policies and more.
RSVP: Open house
Catholic Schools Week begins with our Open House on Sunday, January 27, from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The pancake breakfast will be served from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Notices were sent home in Friday folders and through the eNews previously – did you rsvp? We would appreciate the return of the notice with your intention to attend, as soon as possible. Please stop by your children's classroom during the Open House to see their work on display and to receive a small token of appreciation they have prepared for you.
Registration for 2008-2009
Current family Intent letters will be arriving in the mail shortly. Please complete the forms and return to the school office as soon as possible. Application and registration information for the 2008-2009 school year will be available at Open House.
CSW: alternative dress days
As part of Catholic Schools Week, our student council twisted the administration’s arm into offering students four alternative dress days. For the guidelines for those alternative dress days, click here.
Mardi Gras 2008
Friday, February 1, marks our annual Mardi Gras celebration. Ticket sales began Tuesday, January 15 and will end Friday, January 25. No tickets will be sold the day of the event. Tickets are in $5 or $10 packets. Your child’s name, teacher’s name, room number, and Mardi Gras must be on the envelope. Checks should be made payable to CASH. Kindergarten Information Night
Interested Junior Kinder and Kindergarten families (this includes current families), will want to mark their calendars for the Kindergarten Information Night, Tuesday, February 5, at 7:00 p.m. in our kindergarten classrooms (west wing). Teachers, Dianna Ciurleo, Lynne, Hammaker and Amy Senk, as well as Principal Ciagne, will be present. Sign up for kindergarten screenings (Friday, Feb. 8 and Saturday, Feb. 9 – with alternative dates to follow) will also take place at this time. There are no screenings for JK, registration begins during the Information Night.
Brother Rice Career Night

First Eucharist parent meeting
The parent meeting for students preparing for First Eucharist has been rescheduled for February 11 at 6:15 p.m. in the church.
Confirmation retreat
The retreat for eighth grade Confirmation candidates is Friday, February 15 and Saturday, February 16. Fr. Norm strongly encourages all confirmation candidates to attend.
